Bilingual Permanency Social Worker (San Francisco - part-time)

We currently have an opening for a half-time Bilingual Permanency Social Worker. The primary work location is in San Francisco. The Permanency Social Worker will provide permanency, social work and support for youth in the foster care system, in both Spanish and English. They will conduct family finding and engagement and support youth throughout the process of finding permanency. In addition, they will facilitate Permanency Team meetings and problem solve barriers to permanency. They will interview and develop relationships with youth and encourage them to take a leadership role in decision making and planning. The social worker will create a written recruitment plan that is specific to the needs of each youth as well as assist youth in identifying adults with whom the youth has connections.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

MSW or related master’s degree preferred. Fluency in English and Spanish required.  Experience with youth in the foster care system; knowledge of and experience with providing permanency services; ability to effectively communicate with other professionals; commitment to finding permanency for older youth. Skills and experience working in multicultural settings and through an intersectional lens. Position will involve evening and weekend work.  Must have own car and vehicle insurance. Social Worker (Alameda office)

We have an immediate opening for a foster care/adoption Social Worker who will provide clinical case management, provide training and support to families as they prepare to become foster and adoptive parents. The Social Worker will facilitate the matching, placement, and finalization process for children and families.

MSW or related master’s degree required. Experience with youth in the foster care system; knowledge of and experience with providing permanency services; ability to effectively communicate with other professionals; commitment to finding permanency for older youth. Accounting Assistant

We have an immediate opening for an Accounting Assistant.  The Accounting Assistant maintains accounting records; processes A/R and A/P; and performs related tasks. Other duties will include assistance with timesheets, employee benefit accrual, and expense reports; and maintenance of foster care financial records. The Accounting Assistant will assist with clerical duties, phone answering and special projects as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The qualified candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Bookkeeping experience of three to five years using QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and Word.  Candidate must have consistent accuracy and attention to detail. Homestudy Social Worker (part-time)

We currently have a part-time hourly position for an experienced Homestudy Social Worker.  The Homestudy Social Worker conducts homestudies and assessments for relatives and other caregivers.  They provide an in-depth assessment of the family’s background, experiences, relationships, strengths and weaknesses, and capabilities to fost/adopt a child.  This is a part-time, hourly position 10-20 hours per week.  This position requires in-person visits to family homes.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in social work or equivalent, ability to communicate well, excellent clinical assessment skills, knowledge of and experience with the foster care/child welfare system, including child mental health and placement/attachment and adoption issues.  This position requires excellent writing skills.  Must have own car and be willing to travel. Must have flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.  Must be committed to the mission of the agency. The rate for this position is $53/hour.

Part-Time Social Worker – LGBTQ Program

The Social Worker will implement an innovative program model to provide family engagement, advocacy and support to families of LGBTQ and gender expansive youth in foster care and/or at risk of entering care.

The Social Worker will work with families and other caregivers of referred youth to build or rebuild relationships, educate and train, and provide other support as needed where there are challenges for family members in regards to the youth’s sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.   The goal of the project is to achieve permanency for LGBTQ youth. 

This position will provide these services to families throughout four counties:  Marin, Sonoma, Solano, and Napa.  10-12 hours per week is expected.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.  Experience working with youth in the foster care system and comprehensive SOGIE knowledge and experience working with LGBTQ youth. Experience working with African American and Latino families and communities. Current Driver’s License and a working automobile are required. Willing to travel throughout the North Bay Area.  Must be committed to the mission of the agency.  LGBT individuals and people of color are encouraged to apply.  The rate for this position is $53 per hour.
